Designer Barnwood was established because of a void we observed in the market.  As seen on designer websites like Houzz.com, beautiful barnwood has become all the rage.  Our staff, experienced in the lumber industry, has collaborated to fill this void.  

 Problems  using barnwood   arise because the supply is limited,  and uniform material is hard to find.  Locating accurate representative samples is challenging and once final decisions are made, leadtimes  are not solid because of the de-nailing and kiln drying process. The remote origin of most barnwood means more trucking,  adding to longer leadtimes and  higher costs.  Freshly cut edges and irregular sizes force compromises in design and a dilemma for the craftsman.

Here are our answers to these issues. 

Availability of Western Red Cedar and Eastern White Pine as well as other beautiful domestic softwoods is plentiful.  Homes, barns and other rural structures  use woods native to the American landscape giving us local availability of prime material.  This fact enables us to accomodate woodworkers, homeowners, architects and designers  with timely service.    We will cut and box upon request for any amount needed being sure to leave you with enough gooch for touch up.  Our unique aged finish is the result of a process that uses a waterbased sloution, free of chemicals and  non- flammable.
